Waltham – Ms. Barbara M. (Cummings) Pagliarulo, of Waltham, died Thursday, May 14, 2009 in Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston after a long history of heart disease. She was 76. Barbara was born on in Wakefield on August 6, 1932, and was a daughter of the late Charles Cummings and Harriet R. (MacNaughton) DeLuca and had lived in Waltham for the past thirty-five years. She was a secretary for ten years at the Gillette Company in South Boston and until her retirement she worked in the executive building at the Raytheon Company in Lexington. After Barbara's retirement in 1996 she did volunteer work at the Waltham Hospital. She was known by most for her outgoing personality, great sense of humor, and compassion for others. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Barbara is survived by her lifelong companion, Nancy R. Miner of Waltham; her son, Michael J. Pagliarulo of Belmont, New Hampshire; her dear friends, Eileen MacLean of Watertown, Gina and Charles Partain and family of Gardner, and the Bogart family of Waltham; eight grandchildren, including her special granddaughter, Brandi Saunders of Texas, nine great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many friends. She was also the mother of the late James A. Cataldo. Family and friends will honor and remember Barbara's life by gathering at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 18th in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street ( Rte.20), Waltham where her funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham. Memorial donations may be made to the Support Committee for Battered Women, P.O. Box 24, Waltham, MA 02254.
