Barbara B. Priest

Miramar, FL - Mrs. Barbara (Beattie) Priest of Miramar died Thursday, January 1, 2004 at Memorial Hospital in Pembroke Pines, Florida. She was 80. Born in Newton, a daughter of the late John and Mary (Judge) Beattie she had lived in Waltham before moving to Florida many years ago. She was a graduate of Saint Mary's High School in Waltham and from Emmanuel College in Boston. In 1939 she was won the title 'Miss Massachusetts'. She was an avid world traveler who worked for Delta Air Lines until her retirement. She leaves her childen, Thomas Priest and his wife Joyce of Melbourne, FL, Peter Priest and his wife Christine of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Paul Priest and his wife Helen of Des Moines, IA; her sisters, Phyllis Ryan of Waltham and Sister Virginia Beattie of Detroit, MI; her life long best friend, Dorothy O'Brien of Miramar, FL; and 9 grandchildren. She was also a sister of the late Jack and Ray Beattie and Grace Hay. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 11 a.m. Monday, January 5th in Saint Stephen's Church, Miramar. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 8th in Calvary Cemetery, 250 High Street, Waltham.
