Waltham – Mrs. Barbara M. (Robinson) Quinn, of Waltham, died Friday, January 2, 2015 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. She was 88.
Barbara was born in Waltham on November 13, 1926, a daughter of the late Walter and Alice (Power) Robinson and had been a lifelong resident. She was a 1945 graduate of Waltham High School.
Until her retirement Barbara worked as a nurse's aide at Waltham Hospital and later with the Waltham Visiting Nurse Association. At home she will long be remembered for her talents in the kitchen as a terrific cook and baker.
Barbara's husband of sixty years, Joseph H. Quinn, died November 24, 2008.
She leaves her children, Ret. Waltham Deputy Fire Chief Michael J. Quinn and his wife, Karen, of Harvard and Mark S. Quinn of Newburyport; her grandchildren, Michael Quinn, Jr. and his wife, Tricia, Matthew Quinn and his wife, Melissa, and Timothy Quinn and his wife, Christine; her brothers and sisters, Murray Robinson of Clearwater, Florida, Joan Busa of Waltham, Suzanne Johnson of Suffolk, Virginia, Walter Robinson of Cummings, Georgia and Betty Robinson of Waltham; her sister-in-law, Margie Lapierre of Spencer; nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Barbara's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Wednesday, January 7th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Thursday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will be private.
