Barbara E. Ribeiro

Waltham - Mrs. Barbara E. (Martis) Ribeiro, of Waltham, died Saturday, August 11, 2007 at Epoch Senior Healthcare Center in Weston. She was 85. Born in Boston, a daughter of the late Christopher J. and Agnes M. (Manning) Martis, Barbara was a homemaker and had lived in Waltham since 1952. During World War II she served with the United States Army. Barbara was the wife of the late Joseph A. Ribeiro. She leaves her children, Jean L. Ribeiro of Lincoln, Joseph P. “Jay” Ribeiro of Waltham, and Christopher J. Ribeiro and his wife, Marcia, of Hudson, and her grandchildren, Ashley, C.J., Joey, and Dakota. The Funeral will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Newton Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
