Belgica Romero de Asencio

Mrs. Belgica Romero de Asencio, of Waltham, died Friday, September 3, 2021 in Massachusetts General Hospital after an illness. She was 71.

Belgica was born November 27, 1949 in Guayaquil, Ecuador; a daughter of the late Gumercindo and Candelaria (Gonzalez) Romero. Educated in Ecuador she married Manuel G. Asencio on September 4, 1974. They immigrated to the United States in 1992 settling in New York for 4 years and moved to Waltham in 1996.

She had worked for many years for CNK Components Corporation. 

Belgica was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She loved the holiday's and having all her family together. She enjoyed trips to the mall to shop, cooking, and was a talented seamstress as well. She also always looked forward to visiting her many relatives in New York, and loved playing bingo and scratch tickets.

She was predeceased by all of her siblings: Emilio, Carlos, Leonor, Ulises, Maria-Christina, Azusena.

In addition to her husband of 47 years, Manuel, she leaves their children, Josue Mayorga of Ecuador, Eddie Asencio (Nicole Beaumont) of Marlborough, Peter Asencio (Paola) of Waltham and Jessica Rivera (Pedro) of Waltham; her grandchildren, Analys, Yadiel, Darwin, Nathaniel, Adrian, Jacob, Mario and Isabella; many nieces & nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember Belgica's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Saturday, September 11th from 3 to 6 p.m. A prayer service will be offered beginning at 3 p.m. Burial is private.



La señora Belgica Romero de Asencio, de Waltham, falleció el viernes 3 de septiembre del 2021 en el Hospital General de Massachusetts después de una enfermedad. Ella tenía 71 años.

Belgica nació el 27 de noviembre de 1949 en Guayaquil, Ecuador, hija del difunto Gumercindo y Candelaria (Gonzalez) Romero. Educada en Ecuador, se casó con Manuel G. Asencio el 4 de septiembre de 1974. Inmigraron a los Estados Unidos en 1992 y residieron en Nueva York por 4 años. Después se mudaron a Waltham en 1995.

Trabajo durante muchos años en CNK Components Corporation y también fue una talentosa costurera . Belgica fue una maravillosa esposa, madre, abuela, hermana y amiga. Le encantaba tener a toda su familia junta e irse de vacaciones en especial visitar a su familia en Nueva York. Le gustaba mucho ir de compras, cocinar para la familia y amigos y los viajes al centro comercial,jugar bingo y raspar loterías.

Ella falleció despues de todos sus hermanos
; Emilio, Carlos, Leonor, Ulises, Maria-Christina, Azusena.

Además de su esposo de 47 años, Manuel, ella deja a sus hijos, Josue Mayorga de Ecuador, Eddie Asencio (Nicole Beaumont) de Marlborough, Peter Asencio (Paola) de Waltham y Jessica Rivera (Pedro) de Waltham; sus nietos, Analys, Yadiel, Darwin, Nathaniel, Adrian, Jacob, Mario e Isabella; muchas sobrinas y sobrinos.

Familiares y amigos honrarán y recordarán la vida de Belgica al reunirse durante el horario de atención en The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham el sábado 11 de septiembre de 3 a 6 p.m. Se ofrecerá un servicio de oración a partir de las 3 p.m. El entierro es privado.
