Watertown – Mrs. Bernadine L. (DeFlorio) Sellers, of Watertown, died Sunday, March 13, 2011 at the Elizabeth Seton Residence in Wellesley. She was 91.
Bernadine was born in Boston on September 18, 1919, a daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Dickerman) DeFlorio. She was a graduate of the Boston School of Practical Arts High School. She was a faithful parishioner of Saint Luke Parish in Belmont where she belonged to the Ladies Sodality. She was also a member of the Waltham Golden Age Club, the Embroidery Guild in Brookline and the Elderly Program at The Perkins School for the Blind.
She was the wife of the late Chester M. Sellers.
Bernadine leaves her children, Jane E. Giordano and her husband, John, of Watertown and Ruth Altrich and her husband, Lawrence, of Plymouth; her brother and sisters, George DeFlorio of Woodland Hills, California, Elizabeth Wilder and her husband, Frank, of Winchester and Olive Miles and her husband, David, of Aztec, New Mexico; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was also a sister of the late Robert, Ralph, John and William DeFlorio.
Family and friends will honor and remember Bernadine’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Friday, March 18th, from 4 to 7 p.m. and again at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Luke’s Church, 132 Lexington Street, Belmont where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Saint Patrick’s Cemetery, Watertown.
