Mrs. Bernice V. (Boudreau) Rose, Of Waltham, died Sunday, January 31, 2010 in Epoch of Weston Nursing Facility. She was 88. Bernice was born March 9, 1921 in Greenfield, a daughter of the late Arthur and Katherine (Campbell) Boudreau. She was raised in Cambridge and Watertown and was a graduate of the former Cambridge High & Latin School. In May of 1948 she married Lawrence A. Rose in the former St. Theresa's Church on Mount Auburn Street in Watertown. After marriage they settled in Dorchester where they lived for over 24 years before moving to Waltham. Bernice worked as a dietary aide at Marist Hill Nursing Home in Waltham for over 20 years before retiring in 1996 at the age of 75. Her life centered on her God and the church and her family. She and her late husband enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Canada. She is predeceased by her husband, Lawrence A. Rose and her son, Michael L. Rose and a granddaughter, Carolyn Keyes. She leaves two daughters, Janet A. Keyes of Billerica and Margaret E. Kozo and her husband, James, of Finksburg, Maryland; her siblings, Arthur Boudreau, Geraldine Oliver, Elaine Montgomery, all of Arlington and Katherine Tullis of Northborough; five grandchildren, Christine Hobbs and her husband, Howard, Jason Keyes and his wife, Adriana, Sean, Amber and Tanya Kozo; two great-grandchildren, Lauren and Emily Hobbs; nieces and nephews. Family and friends will honor and remember Bernice's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Friday morning before leaving in procession to Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge.
