Mrs. Bernice A. ‘Bea’ (Doucette) Sandstrom, of Dudley, formerly of Auburn and Waltham, died Saturday, April 30, 2011 in her home. She was 94.
Bernice, lovingly referred to as ‘Bea’, was born on April 18, 1917 in Boston, a daughter of the late Lottie Doucette. She was a graduate of Waltham High School. She lived many years in Waltham before moving to Auburn in 1988 and Dudley in 1998.
She enjoyed bingo, movies and time spent with her family.
Bea is predeceased by her husband Edgar Sandstrom and her children, Barbara A. Jordan and Denise L. Sandstrom.
She leaves her children, Donald B. Sandstrom and his wife, Lorraine, of Stow and Darlene L. Parker and her husband, Ralph, of Dudley; grandchildren including Donald Sandstrom Jr., Laura Sandstrom – King, Diana Sandstrom – Nasiatka, Lee Sandstrom – Donaldson, Dana Sandstrom, Emily ‘Emma’ Parker, Sean Parker, Jeremy Sandstrom and Gregory Jordan.
Family and friends will honor and remember Bea’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Thursday, May 5th, from 5 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Friday morning before leaving in procession to Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
