Bertha M. Aucoin

Waltham - Mrs. Bertha M. Aucoin, of Waltham, died Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Wingate in Brighton. She was 91.

Bertha was born in Youngridge, New Brunswick on October 22, 1919 and had lived in Waltham since 1964. She was an accomplished homemaker and enjoyed knitting and gardening.

She was the wife of the late Michael J. Aucoin and mother of the late Angus Aucoin.

Bertha leaves her children, Gladys M. Smith of North Billerica, Elmer Aucoin of Rogersville, New Brunswick and Vernon, Sterling, Andy and Kenneth Aucoin, all of Waltham; her sister, Doreen Gaudet of New Brunswick; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember Bertha’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. and again at 8 a.m. on Friday morning before leaving in procession to the Blessed Sacrament Chapel of Saint Charles Borromeo Church, 51 Hall Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Burial will be private.
