Bertha E. (Gautreau) LeBlanc

Mrs. Bertha E. LeBlanc, 85, loving wife, mother, grandmother and aunt, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 30, 2023 in Newton-Wellesley Hospital surrounded by family.

Bertha was born in Memramcook, New Brunswick on February 3, 1938, a daughter of the late Zoel and Josephine (Allain) Gautreau. She moved to Waltham in her early twenties and worked at The Clevite Corporation. There she met Eddie J. LeBlanc and they would marry on October 5th, 1963. They remained in Waltham where they would raise their family and have lived ever since.

Bertha enjoyed spending her summers in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia with family. She led by example, always putting others first and opening her home to extended family, friends, and anyone in need. She captured many special memories over the decades through her movie camera. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed taking trips to the casino.

She leaves her children, Denise LeBlanc (Marilène) of Chelmsford, Kevin LeBlanc (Edite) of Waltham, Claudine True (Joseph) of Hudson and James LeBlanc (Arzu) of Westford; her sister, Irene Dollard of Marlborough; her grandchildren, John (Karely), Jennifer, Lauren, Juliette, Randy, Kelsey, Lucas, Logan and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her beloved husband, Eddie, Bertha was predeceased by brothers, Elisé, Alban, Edouard, Joseph, Néri, Gérald, Paul, Amédée, Armand and Hector; and her sisters, Maria, Adrienne, Olida and Thérèse.

Family and friends will honor and remember Bertha’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Thursday, January 4th from 4 to 7 p.m. and again at 10 a.m. on Friday morning before leaving in procession to Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Committal services will follow in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel, Waltham.
