Bessie Karamas

Waltham - Mrs. Bessie (Kotsifas) Karamas, of Waltham, died Sunday, December 17, 2017 in Newton-Wellesley Hospital. She was 92.

Bessie was born in Waltham on May 17, 1925, a daughter of the late Nicholas and Margaret (Marchacos) Kotsifas, and was a lifelong resident. Until her retirement she worked as a group leader for twenty years for the Raytheon Company.

She was the wife of the late Anthony Karamas and the sister of the late George Kotsifas, Peter Kotsifas, Theresa Manos, Clara Boisvert, and Effie Pappas.

Bessie is survived by her children, Louis P. Karamas and Margaret C. Sutherland, her grandson, Sean A. Sutherland, and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember Bessie's life by gathering for calling hours on Wednesday, December 20th, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham and again on Thursday when her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
