Waltham – Miss Bettina J. Dalton, of Waltham, died Thursday, April 11, 2013 in Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She was 88.
Bettina was born in Chicago, Illinois on May 15, 1924, a daughter of the late John F. and Ruth (Littlefield) Dalton. She graduated from the University of New Hampshire earning both her bachelor's and masters degrees. She taught history and civics at the South Middle School in Waltham for thirty years. Prior to that, she had taught in Stoneham for six years.
She was an active member of the First Congregational Church in Waltham and had been a member of the Waltham Senior Citizens, the Retired Educators of America and the University of New Hampshire Alumni. Bettina also was a former guide at the Gore and Lyman Estates in Waltham.
Bettina was the sister of the late Barbara Dalton.
Friends will honor and remember Bettina's life by gathering to visit at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 18th in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham where her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Burial will be private.
