Waltham – Mrs. Betty Joyce (Adams) Kimball, of Waltham, died Friday, March 27, 2015 at Kindred Hospital in Brighton. She was 75.
Joyce was born in Westville, Florida on January 2, 1940, a daughter of the late Sanford and Thelma (Byrd) Adams, and was raised in Bartow, Florida. She moved to Waltham shortly after her marriage to Waltham native George H. Kimball, Jr.
Until her retirement she worked as a secretary for Central Welding in Waltham. Joyce had also been a longtime member of Palestine Chapter No. 114 of The Order of the Eastern Star in Newtonville.
In addition to her husband, George, she leaves her children, Tamela J. Pappas and her husband, Nicholas, Kimberly M. Malkofsky and George H. Kimball, III and his wife, Jennifer, all of Waltham; her grandchildren, Cathryn and Jonathan Pappas, Lauren Silva and her husband, Eddie, Jeffrey and Haley Malkofsky, and Rebecca and Gabrielle Kimball; her great-granddaughter, Sophia Silva; her sisters and brothers, Opal Riley, Fred Adams, Gene Adams and Ruth Lewis, all of Florida and many nieces and nephews.
Joyce was also a sister of the late Mildred Floyd and Donald Adams.
Family and friends will honor and remember Joyce's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Wednesday, April 1st from 4 to 7 p.m. Order of the Eastern Star service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Family and friends will gather again on Thursday morning when her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Burial will be private.
