Waltham- Ms. Beverly M. (Pearson) Grant, a 50 year resident of Sudbury died Monday April 12, 2010 at Emerson Hospital in Concord, MA. She was 82.
Beverly was born in Waltham on February 28, 1928, a daughter of the late William W. and Margaret B. (Merritt) Pearson. Beverly, a registered nurse, worked as a Certified Occupational Health Nurse for the Raytheon Corporation in Wayland, MA for fifteen years until her retirement in 1993. Prior to Raytheon, she was employed in a variety of nursing positions including medical, surgical and geriatric nursing.
Beverly, who grew up in Waltham, graduated from Waltham High School in 1946 and earned her nursing degree from Newton-Wellesley Hospital School of Nursing in 1950. Upon graduation, she worked for the polio eradication program at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital Cornell Medical Center in both White Plains, NY and New York City.
A long-time resident of Sudbury, Beverly’s interests included the Sudbury Garden Club, the Goodnow Library, and later in life, the Sudbury Senior Center.
She leaves two sons, Howard W. Grant and Douglas M. Grant, both of Sudbury. Beverly was pre-deceased by her beloved twin sister Barbara Pearson. She is survived by her brothers and sisters Jean Lewis of Apopka, FL; Graeme Pearson and his wife Catherine of New Bern, NC; James Pearson and his wife Frankie of Myrtle Beach, SC; and Susan Pearson of Orlando, FL. She was pre-deceased by her sister Margaret Gibbons and her brother Paul Pearson. Beverly is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
