Mrs. Beverly R. (LaForte) Waite, of Waltham, died Tuesday, April 25 2017 in Carney Hospital, Boston. She was 68.
Beverly was born in Waltham on May 22, 1949, a daughter of the late Roy and Ann (Annunziata) LaForte, and had been a lifelong resident. After graduating from Waltham High School she attended Catherine Labouré School on Nursing at Carney Hospital and earned her nursing degree before becoming a registered nurse.
A wonderful caregiver by nature Beverly's nursing career began at 'the Carney' and later she worked at Waltham Hospital and at Saint Elizabeth's Hospital. After that she worked for more than twenty years at the New Baptist Hospital until her retirement.
In January, 1971 she married the love of her life, South Weymouth native John R. Waite, in Our Lady's Church in Waltham. The couple made Waltham their lifelong home.
Beverly's greatest joy came from time spent with her family . . . she was a terrific wife, mother and grandmother . . . when the grandchildren came along her life was made complete. It gave her yet another reason to exercise one of her loves, a passion for shopping.
Every year the family made a pilgrimage to Disney World in Florida . . . and where according to Beverly, it was, in fact, the 'happiest place on earth'. For John and the kids and grandkids the cherished memories of the Disney trips bring a tear to their eyes and smile to their faces. And every time they see an image of Tinkerbell or hear the trademark Disney tune, It's a Small World, a happy memory of Beverly is sure to follow.
In addition to her husband of forty-six years, John, she leaves her daughters, Christine P. Romancewicz and her husband, Gary, of Waltham and Kimberly A. Waite of Stoughton; her grandchildren, Nicole and Connor Romancewicz; her sister Dorothy A. Taranto of Lexington and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Beverly's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street, (Rte. 20) Waltham on Friday, April 28th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
