Blanche F. Smith

Waltham - Mrs. Blanche F. (Fortin) Smith, of Waltham, died Tuesday, February 12, 2008 in the Epoch Senior Healthcare Center of Weston. She was 98. Born in Quebec, Canada, she had lived in Waltham for many years. Mrs. Smith worked in the bridal industry for many years, first at Chez Elise Bridal Shop and at Formal Wear, both in Waltham. Mrs. Smith was the wife of the late William A. Smith and a daughter of the late Simon and Pamela (Blanchette) Fortin. She was predeceased by several brothers and sisters. Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughter, Anita M. Doucet and her husband, Leonard, of Waltham; her grandchildren, Linda Pratt and Jill Doucet; her great grandchildren, Joseph and Sophie Pratt; and many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Friday at 11 a.m. in The Blessed Sacrament Chapel of Saint Charles Borromeo Church, 51 Hall Street, Waltham. Burial will be in Saint Joseph's Cemetery in Chelmsford at 2:30 p.m. Visitation will be held prior to the Funeral Mass on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham.
