Ashby – Mr. Brian R. Hancock, of Ashby, formerly of Waltham, died Friday, March 3, 2017 at his home. He was 59.
Brian was born in Waltham on July 2, 1957, a son of Joseph W. and Marie M. (Pellerin) Hancock of Waltham. He had been a lifelong resident before moving to Ashby three years ago. After high school Brian served with the United States Marine Corps and later became a firefighter with the Waltham Fire Department until his retirement.
In addition to his parents he leaves his wife, Mary E. (Barry) Hancock; his children, Kelly J., Jason B. and Brian E. Hancock, all of Waltham; his grandchildren, Darrin McGrath and Dillan Hancock; his brother and sister, Joseph W. Hancock and his wife, Barbara, of Framingham and Sandra Cate and her husband, Douglas, of Holden; his dear friends, Karen Peladeau and Kevin Blanchard and many nieces and nephews.
Brian was also a brother of the late John M. Hancock.
Family and friends will honor and remember Brian's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Wednesday, March 8th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
