Camille (Congelos) Butler

November 19, 1942 — July 1, 2019

'We will all have our Fridays. But I testify to you in the name of the One who conquered death - Sunday will come. In the darkness of our sorrow…Sunday will come!' wrote Mormon Joseph B. Wirthlin. Camille Butler's Sunday came peacefully but joyful and welcomed on Monday, July 1, 2019. She was 76.

Camille Congelos was born November 19, 1942 in Hartford, Connecticut a daughter of the late Joseph and Lydia (Boccacio) Congelos. Raised and educated in Hartford she later married John Butler. They lived many years in Windsor Locks, Connecticut before making Worcester their home for 20 years. Following John's death in 1993 Camille returned back to college in her 50's and began working for the City of Worcester. Her desk on Meade Street in Worcester where the Department of Public Health was stationed became the central meeting spot for many people but most of all funeral directors. It was the funeral directors with whom she had the most interaction as she was the front line for of all paperwork to be filed when deaths occurred in the city. Camille was the friendly, familiar face who was most helpful and went beyond to get things done. Always polite, compassionate, efficient, tempered and a respected co-worker Camille was a much loved person at work and beyond.

Upon retirement Camille served a mission in Toronto, Canada for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Camille then moved to Utah to be closer to family. She loved her church and the many people with whom she developed personal friendships while doing God's work.

Camille's family would like to express their appreciation and gratitude to the staff at Pointe Meadows Health and Rehabilitation in Lehi, Utah for the love and devoted care they gave to Camille.

Equally important to Camille's faith was her family. She loved being a mother and then to be blessed with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She considered her family to be her greatest joy.

In addition to her husband, John and her parents Camille is predeceased by her brother, Joseph P. Congelos Jr.

She leaves her children Dawn Bitar (Mark) of Brandon, VT, Dina Chatwin (Michael) of Highlands Ranch, CO, Danielle Cousin (Erik) of Eagle Mountain, UT, Joseph Butler (Celeste) of Herriman, UT, and Heather Morgan (Gary) of Orem, UT; her grandchildren, Brian, Jennawé, Elizabeth, Emerson, Rileigh, Kate, Lydia, Luke, Maggie, Bellami, Johnny and Kayleigh; great-grandchildren, Mathew, Michael, Lily, Westly, Arya, Katherine and Grace; her sister, Paula Congelos of Suffield, CT; also survived by nieces & nephews.

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Camille's life on Friday, July 5th in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Chapel, 13122 Herriman Rose Boulevard, Herriman, Utah. Viewing will be from 5 - 7 p.m. followed by her funeral service at 7 p.m.

Additionally, services will be held on Tuesday, July 9th at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 67 Chester Street, Worcester, Massachusetts. A visitation will be held from 9 - 10 a.m followed by her funeral service at 10 a.m. Following a collation burial will follow Tuesday afternoon in Grove Cemetery, Windsor Locks, Connecticut.
