Weston – Mrs. Carmela C. (Costa) Brasco, of Weston, died peacefully on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at her home. She was 93.
Mel was born in Waltham on March 1, 1927, the only daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Agnello) Costa. She was raised in Waltham and graduated from Waltham High School in 1944. In 1949 she married World War II veteran Frederick Brasco in Sacred Heart Church and the pair spent sixty-seven happy years together until Fred's death on April 12, 2016.

In addition to her love of family, she was a devoted Catholic and faithful parishioner of Saint Julia Church in Weston. Mel made many close friendships in the parish community with her warm, friendly smile and genuinely sweet personality.
In addition to her beloved husband, Fred, she is reunited in Heaven with her son-in-law, Michael Lingerfelt.
She leaves her children, Frederick Brasco (Theresa) of Weston, Connecticut, Joanne Lingerfelt of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, Thomas Brasco (Susan) of Bronxville, New York, Barbara Mele (Peter) of Rochester, New York, and Patricia Howe (Kenneth) of Nashua, New Hampshire; eleven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Her Funeral Mass in Saint Julia's Church in Weston and burial in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham were private.
