Mrs. Carol A. (DeWolfe) Conzo, of Waltham, died Friday, April 29, 2011 in Epoch of Weston. She was 73.
Carol was born on August 10, 1937 in Waltham, a daughter of the late Alfred J. and Alice M. (Barnard) DeWolfe and had been a lifelong resident.
In 1956 she married Joseph R. Conzo in St. Jude’s Church. She opted to stay at home to raise and educate her children and later worked as a self-employed Avon cosmetics salesperson from her home for many years. Carol was a talented piano player and was also very active in former Mayor William F. Stanley’s Mayoral elections. In their spare time she and Joe enjoyed square dancing.
In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her brother, Alfred J. DeWolfe Jr.
She leaves her husband of 55 years, Joseph R. Conzo; her children, Steven R. Conzo and his wife, Dorothy, Gary J. Conzo, Sharon L. Hawkes and her husband, John, all of Waltham and Alan J. Conzo and his wife, Susan, of Framingham. She is also survived by six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Carol’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and again at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Grove Hill Cemetery, Waltham.
