Carol Ann Melanson

December 21, 1941 — November 15, 2003

West Newton – Mrs. Carol Ann (Horne) Melanson died November 15, 2003 in her home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was 61. Born in Boston, she had lived in Waltham for many years before moving to West Newton. She was a Waltham High School graduate, Class of 1960. Mrs. Melanson was a loving wife and mother who adored her family. She loved horses as well as music. Mrs. Melanson also enjoyed pencil sketching and was known to always have a lovely smile on her face. She will be missed by her husband of 39 years, Paul J. Melanson; her children, Tara M. Green and her husband, Douglas of Templeton, Kristen A. Leger and her husband, Richard of Newton, and Paul J. ‘P.J.’ Melanson, Jr. and his wife, Beth of Waltham; her grandchildren, Samuel, Laduc, Carolann, and William; her father, Bernard J. Horne of Waltham; her sister, B. Jeanne Richard of Buzzards Bay; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Melanson was also the daughter of the late Alberta Jessie (O’Brien) Horne. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. In gratitude for the wonderful care and support, donations in Carol Ann’s memory to HealthCare Dimensions Hospice, 764 Main Street, Waltham, MA 02451 would be appreciated.
