Waltham - Mrs. Carol Kenney Joyce Simboli, of Waltham, formerly of Medford, died Friday, June 19, 2009 in her home. She was 73. Carol was the proud mother of Mark T. Joyce of Waltham, Paul E. Joyce of Milford, New Hampshire, Nancie Joyce Puliafico and her husband, Paul, of Braintree, Jay Joyce and Richard E. Joyce and his wife, Linda, all of Waltham and Karel P. Simboli of Boston. She also leaves her sisters, Joan Daly of Hyde Park and Ann Olivo of Essex; her grandchildren, Mark Joyce and his wife Amy, PJ Puliafico and his wife, Allison, Amy Puliafico, Jayson Joyce, Jillian Joyce, Karamarie Joyce, Kyle Joyce, Casey Joyce and Justin Joyce, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was the wife of the late John J. Joyce, mother of the late Frankie Simboli and sister of the late Frank Kenney. Born in Medford on July 3, 1935, a daughter of the late Frank J. and Josephine T. (Sloan) Kenney, Carol worked for many years as an office manager for B.T.S. Asset Management in Lexington. She was previously employed at Boylt, Dalton and Church, the office of Joseph A. Zadrozny, The Cottage Crest, Igo's, Massachusetts State Office for Children and Kurzweil Music. She was also a member of the Waltham Red Hat Society. Since Carol's cancer diagnosis in October of 2006 she did lots of living; She went to her first Red Sox game. She went to the Falmouth Road Race in 2007 and 2008. She went to the Boston Marathon. She went to New Orleans with Mark, Doris, Jay and Nancie. She attended PJ and Allison's shower and wedding. She attended Marky and Amy's engagement party, shower and wedding. She saw Justin make his First Holy Communion. She was here to take joy in Amy's graduation from Boston University and Jayson's graduation from Bishop Feehan. She was thrilled that Jay is working at a job he loves at BTS Asset Management. She was proud that Nancie finally took that paralegal course she's been talking about taking for years. She glowed with pride that Mark's music has continued to grow and that he has performed at the Boston Hard Rock. She watched Paul go from being the bane of every teacher's existence to a teacher who inspires his students to push beyond any goals they had ever set for themselves. She bragged that Jillian competed in Mock Trial and attended her first prom. She beamed with pleasure that Kyle continued to excel in school and music. She lived to see Casey complete her first year in middle school. She saw Kara elected class vice-president and attend her first prom. Ra continued to grow his house and his career; thus improving her bragging rights. She had been able to visit PJ and Allison's yet unfinished home. And of course, she visited many, many yard sales. Family and friends will honor and remember Carol's life by gathering for a celebration of her life at the Sons of Italy Hall, 99 Cedar Street, Waltham on Friday, July 10th, from 7 p.m. to 12 midnight.
