Mrs. Carole D. (Kaminski) Nies, of Gardner, formerly of Waltham, died on Thursday, December 22, 2016 in UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. She was 73.
Carole was born on January 10, 1943, the daughter of the late Edmund and Doris (Gamlin) Kaminski. She was raised and educated in Worcester and had spent most of her life living in Waltham before moving to Gardner thirteen years ago.
She is survived by her husband, Edward A. Nies; her daughter, Donna M. Laferriere and her husband, Richard, of North Grafton; her grandchildren, Matthew Whalen and his wife, Jennifer, Nicholas Laferriere, MacKenzie Nies and Brandie Nies and her great-grandchildren, Bayleigh and Grayson.
She was also the mother of the late Eward A. Nies, Jr. and Bruce F. Nies and sister of the late Chester Kaminski.
Family and friends will honor and remember Carole's life by gathering for her Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2017 in Sacred Heart Church, 1321 Centre St., Newton.
