Waltham - Caroline D. 'Lyn' (Devereux) Buckley, of Waltham, died Saturday, June 2, 2012 in Charwell House Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Norwood. She was 72.
Lyn was born in Manhattan, New York, on July 13, 1939, a daughter of the late John and Helen (Grunge) Devereux. She was a graduate of Bedford High School and later earned her Associate's Degree in occupational therapy from North Shore Community College. She lived many years in Bedford before moving to Waltham in 1989.
She worked for many years at The Edinburg Center in Waltham. She was a member of Hope International Church and the Potter Place Clubhouse. Her interests included knitting, crotchet, her cats and gardening.
Lyn leaves her daughter, Ruth L. Milam and her husband, The Rev. David R. Milam, of Lakeville; her sister, Elizabeth D. "Bess" Lusk and her husband, John of Woodville, Ohio; her grandchildren, Kathryn Milam Peckham and her husband, Julian F. Peckham IV, Ian Matthew Milam, Heather Lyn Milam; her great-grandson, Julian Francis Peckham V and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Lyn's life by gathering to visit in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rt. 20), Waltham on Wednesday morning, June 6th, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. before leaving in procession to Hope International Church, 21 Bruce Road, Waltham where her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery, Waltham.
