Caroline M. (Cotone) Parello

Waltham – Mrs. Caroline M. (Cotone) Parello, of Waltham, died Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Seasons Hospice in Milton. She was 81.

Carol was born in Waltham on March 10, 1935 to the late Samuel and Mary (Ruggiero) Cotone. She was raised in Watertown and moved to Waltham following her marriage to her late husband, Thomas R. Parello.

She was a graduate of Watertown High School and continued her studies at the Catherine LaBourre School of Nursing where she earned her nursing degree. Until her retirement she worked as a registered nurse for local doctors and before that at Waltham Hospital.

She and Tom were longtime members of Saint Jude Parish where Carol was a member of the choir. She also belonged to Maria Montessori Lodge No. 1744 of the Sons of Italy in Belmont.

The wife of the late Thomas R. Parello, she leaves her stepson, Robert T. Parello, her brother, William J. Cotone and his wife Katherine, of Waltham, 3 step-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Carol was also the sister of the late Phyllis, James and Francis Cotone.

Family and friends will honor and remember Carol's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Sunday, March 12th, from 3 to 7 p.m. and again at 9:30 a.m. on Monday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
