Charlestown – Carolmarie Smith, of Charlestown, died Sunday, December 10, 2017 at her home. She was 81.
Carolmarie was born in Braintree on December 17, 1935, a daughter of the late Eugene and Winifred (Lynch) Smith and was raised in Waltham. She was a graduate of Mount Alvernia Academy in Newton and received her Bachelor's degree at Boston College. She later earned a Master's degree from the University of Massachusetts.
She was a resident of Newton and of Boston's South End before moving to Charlestown more than twenty years ago.
Until her retirement Carolmarie worked as a paralegal in Boston and before that taught Biology for many years at Framingham State College.
She leaves her daughter, Jennifer Mirabella and her husband, Stephen, of Roslindale; her grandchildren, Matthew, Gregory and Jacqueline Mirabella; her siblings, Leona Briggs and her husband, Leon, of Westwood and Sidney Smith and his wife, Mary, of Scottsdale, Arizona and many nieces and nephews.
Carolmarie was also a sister of the late Eugene Smith, Jr.
Funeral services are private.
