Waltham – Miss Carolyn H. Connelly, of Waltham, died Wednesday, December 30, 2015 in her home. She was 85.
Carolyn was born in Waltham on July 20, 1930, a daughter of the late Stephen and Lillian (Hudson) Connelly, and had been a lifelong resident.
Until her retirement, Carolyn worked independently as a housekeeper in town, following her time working at the Waltham Watch Company.
Those close to her lovingly remember Carolyn for having a strong, independent spirit and a strong faith. She had been a member of the Legion of Mary at Saint Mary's Church in Waltham.
She found joy in crocheting, knitting, and sewing, at which she was very talented. She was also known as the handywoman of the family as she could fix almost anything.
Carolyn leaves her sister, Muriel Grossman of Duryea, Pennsylvania, her sister-in-law, T. Arlene Connelly of Waltham and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Stephen, Francis, Frederick, Robert and Donald Connelly, and Phyllis Pitts.
Family and friends will honor and remember Carolyn's life by gathering for calling hours in the Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Tuesday, January 5th from 6 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
