Weston - Mrs. Catherine R. (Rock) Fallon of Weston died Monday, March 6, 2017 in her home. She was 81. Mrs. Fallon was born in New York City on April 24, 1935, a daughter of the late Dr. Robert T. Rock and Dr. Dorothea McCarthy.
Catherine was raised in Bronxville, New York, and had lived in Winchester for twelve years before moving to Weston forty years ago.
On her birthday in 1959, Catherine got engaged to her beloved husband, William J. Fallon, and they were married in September of that year in Bronxville.
She was a senior development officer at Brandeis University for many years until her retirement in November of 2005.
Catherine was a graduate of Middlebury College, where she served on the Board of Trustees, and she was a member of the League of Women Voters, the Winchester School Committee, a delegate at the 2014 Democratic State Convention, a chairperson for Roxbury Weston Programs, and an active member of the Weston-Wayland Interfaith Action Group.
Catherine was also a Eucharistic Minister at Saint Julia's Church in Weston, and was a founding member of Voice of the Faithful, which she served as the first secretary/clerk.
In addition to her husband, Catherine is survived by her children James P. Fallon and his wife, Mary Alynn, of San Diego; Lee Magill and her husband, Michael, of New York City; Paul D. Fallon and his wife, Hannah, of Fredericksburg, Virginia; and Robert Fallon of Pittsburgh, as well as six grandchildren.
Family and friends will honor and remember Catherine's life by gathering for calling hours on Friday, March 10th, from 5 to 8 p.m. and again on Saturday at 10 a.m. before leaving in procession to Saint Julia's Church, 374 Boston Post Road, Weston, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will be private.
