Catherine T. Poskus

Carver - Mrs. Catherine T. (Cummings) Poskus, of Carver, formerly of Brockton, died Friday, January 25, 2008 in Sachem Nursing and Skilled Rehabilitation Center, East Bridgewater, after a period of failing health. She was 90. Born in West Newton, a daughter of the late John and Nora (Earls) Cummings, she had been a resident of Brockton for more than forty years before moving to Carver in 1990. For over 20 years she was a secretary for the Water Department for the City of Brockton, retiring in 1987. Catherine was a graduate of Waltham High School. Her husband, Charles T. Poskus died in 1965. She was predeceased by two sons, Richard J. Poskus and Kevin T. Poskus, and her siblings, William and Richard Cummings and Margaret Carroway. Catherine leaves her son, John J. Poskus and his wife, Judith, of Middleboro; a granddaughter, Jill H. Duzan and her husband, Chris, and their children, Julia and Brendon Duzon, all of Middleboro and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Funeral Services at 11 a.m. Wednesday in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham. Visiting hour will be held prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m.
