Waltham – Miss Catherine B. 'Kay' Sanuth, of Waltham, died Friday, January 11, 2013 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. She was 90.
Kay was born in Boston on July 25, 1922, a daughter of the late Louis and Pauline (Minkauskas) Sanuth, both émigré's from Lithuania. She was raised in Hyde Park and was a graduate of Hyde Park High School. She had lived in Roslindale before moving to South Boston where she had been a longtime resident. Until her retirement Kay worked as a secretary for many years in the admitting office at Boston City Hospital. She had been a Waltham resident for the past eight years.
She leaves her sister, Antoinette Turcotte and her husband, Sylva, of Waltham and Adele Bridges and her husband, William, of Nashua, New Hampshire and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Kay was also a sister of the late John Sanuth, William Sanuth, Peter Senuta, Anthony Sanuth, Anne Constantino, Mary Newman, Margaret Lowrence, Elizabeth Green and Cecelia Doody.
Family and friends will honor and remember Kay's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Tuesday, January 15th, from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Benedict Cemetery, West Roxbury.
