Catherine M. Spellman

Waltham - Miss Catherine M. Spellman, of Waltham, died Tuesday, April 15, 2008 in Meadow Green Nursing Home in Waltham. She was 99. A lifelong Waltham resident, Miss Spellman was a telephone operator for the New England Telephone Company for many years until her retirement in 1973. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. Miss Spellman was the daughter of the late Patrick J. and Margaret T. (Donlan) Spellman and a sister of the late Joseph E. Spellman, Mary A. Larner, Rita P. Spellman, and Alice C. Casey. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Margaret (Larner) Rago of Pocasset, Thomas Larner of Mashpee, Patricia Keough of Falmouth, Rita Morrell of Swansea, and Richard Casey of Watertown as well as many grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Friday at 9 a.m. from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Mary's Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
