Catherine G. (Cincotta) Valentino

Waltham – Mrs. Catherine G. (Cincotta) Valentino, of Waltham, died at home on Tuesday, December 13, 2016. She was 94.

Catherine was born in Brooklyn, New York on October 24, 1922, the daughter of the late Angelo and Literia (Cirina) Cincotta.

She worked for years as a buyer for Macy's Department Store at the flagship location in Manhattan and during the war years volunteered with other store employees for the U.S.O. Fluent in French and Italian, Catherine was also a collector of fine crystal, porcelain and figurines.

Until her retirement she worked as a receptionist for her son John's dental practice in Waltham.

She was the beloved wife of the late Paul J. Valentino and is survived by her son, Dr. John G. Valentino and his wife, Cindy, of Waltham and several nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late George, Joseph and John Cincotta.

Family and friends will honor and remember Catherine's life by gathering to visit in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20),Waltham on Monday, December 19th from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m.
