Catherine A. Vaughan

Waltham – Mrs. Catherine A. 'Mrs. Cathy' (McLaughlin) Vaughan, of Waltham, died Monday, April 14, 2008 in her home. She was 65. Born in Boston, Cathy had lived in Waltham since 1953. She was a pre-school teacher for the Carousel School in Waltham for twenty-seven years. She enjoyed going to her childrens' and grandchildrens' sporting events. Cathy loved spending time with her friends, the Carousel family, going to the beach and traveling with her sister Jeanne. She cherished holidays with her family and creating memories through traditions. Cathy was the daughter of the late Michael McLaughlin and the sister of the late Paul and Michael McLaughlin. She is survived by her husband, Ronald J. Vaughan; her children, Kenneth M. Vaughan and his wife, RoseAnn, of Middletown, Connecticut, Kellie J. Righini and her husband, Craig, of Salem, New Hampshire, and Pamela M. Vaughan and her husband, Bob Gillen, of Stow; her mother, Catherine (MacRae) McLaughlin; her sisters, Jeanne Rizzitano of Townsend and Christine McCarty of Wilmington, Vermont; 8 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral at 8 a.m. Thursday from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham, at 9 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Carousel School/Cathy Vaughan Fund, 66 Brewster Road, Waltham, MA 02451.
