Waltham - Mrs. Cecile (Doucette) Logan, of Waltham, died Thursday, July 3, 2014 in Maristhill Nursing Home. She was 102.
Cecile was born on March 8, 1912 in Glace Bay, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, a daughter of the late Arsene and Catherine (Deveaux) Doucette. She worked at the former Waltham Watch Factory, the Waltham Paper Bag Company and at the Raytheon Company. She was married to Charles S. Logan, a longtime Waltham police officer, until his death in 1995.
She was a longtime member of Saint Charles Borromeo Parish. She and her late husband enjoyed square dancing and time spent with friends in the Waltham Ballroom Dancing Club.
In addition to her husband, Charles, she was predeceased by her sisters, Margaret Mahoney and Mary Doucette.
Cecile leaves her children, Marie C. Eldridge and her husband, Ronald of Hopkinton, Peter C. Logan and his wife, Bonnie of Townsend and Paul S. Logan of Jupiter, Florida; her grandchildren, Michael Eldridge and his wife, Anne of Clemson, South Carolina, Bethany Eldridge and her husband, Michael Smith, of Missoula, Montana and Laura Eldridge of Barcelona, Spain; her great-grandchildren, Lillie and Samuel Eldridge of Clemson, South Carolina; her sister-in-law, Alice Logan of Waltham and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Cecile's life by gathering to visit in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Saturday, July 12th from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. before leaving in procession to The Blessed Sacrament Chapel of St. Charles Borromeo Church, 51 Hall Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
