West Newton – Mrs. Charleen A. (McCue) Coleman, of West Newton, died Saturday, October 20, 2007 in The Stanley R. Tippett House, Needham, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. She was 56. She leaves her husband, John F. Coleman; a step-son, Keith P. Coleman of North Carolina; two brothers, Donald McCue of Daytona, Florida and Dennis McCue of Albuqueque, New Mexico; a sister-in-law, Sandra Connelly of Waltham and many close friends. She was born November 9, 1950 in Boston, a daughter of the late Arthur T. and Dorothy L. (Greenway) McCue. She was a graduate of Watertown High School, class of 1968. Charleen worked as a cashier at the former Star Market, now Shaw’s, in Auburndale for many years. Previously, she had worked at Queen Cleaners on Moody Street in Waltham for over 15 years. She was a member of St. Bernard’s Church in West Newton and was a member in good standing of AA with 21 years of sobriety. Charleen loved to vacation or day trip to Hampton Beach and had done this all of her life. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral at 9:30 a.m. Thursday from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Bernard’s Church, 1529 Washington Street, West Newton at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be private. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Stanley R. Tippett Hospice House, 920 South Street, Needham, 02492.
