Charles Gumbert

Mr. Charles Gumbert Jr. of Dedham, formerly of Waltham, died Thursday, February 28, 2013 in his home. He was 82. Charles was born in Waltham on December 5, 1930, a son of the late Charles G. Gumbert and Margaret (Bent) Ryan.

Charles was an avid fan of the Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins and Celtics. He loved to draw and was a train enthusiast. Charles also enjoyed traveling and participated in the Special Olympics, where he won numerous medals.

Charles is survived by his devoted sister, Carole Lane of E. Bridgewater; his nieces and nephews, Calvin Lane, Colleen Lane Richards, Brian Lane, Kelly Kane and Shawn Brown and several grandnieces and grandnephews.

He was also the brother of the late Beverly A. Brown and Richard A. Gumbert; the brother-in-law of the late Henry Lane, and the great uncle of the late Amy L. Lane.

He will be missed by his friends at the Dedham House.

Family and friends will gather on Monday, March 25th in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street, (Rte. 20), Waltham where his Funeral Service will be held at 11 am. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
