Meriden, Conn. – . . . "Sometimes,' said Pooh, 'the smallest things take up the most room in your heart." . . . A.A. Milne.
On the thirteenth of September last year Kara and Pat McCourt welcomed the newest edition and addition to their family . . . little Charlie, who weighed in at eight pounds; fourteen ounces of pure love.
Waiting for him at home was his three year old brother Patrick who shared his parent's joy at the house suddenly becoming smaller and busier . . . and nothing could have pleased him more.
For a little guy Charlie had a huge smile and earned the nickname 'Charlie Boy' from his parents. He loved his big brother Patrick who could make him laugh just by looking at him and whenever Charlie was tickled he had a contagious laugh that Patrick called 'squeaks'.
On Monday, January 23, 2017 the world changed again when Pat and Kara got the sudden 'take your breath away' news that their beloved Charlie Leidy McCourt had died unexpectedly. Gone much too soon at four months old.
In addition to his father and mother, Patrick E. and Kara (Langan) McCourt and his brother, Patrick, of Meriden, Charlie leaves his maternal grandparents, Kevin and Ellen (Kavaleski) Langan of Wallingford, Conn.; his paternal grandparents, MaryBeth McCourt and Kevin McCourt of Pennsylvania; his great grandparents, Ann Rita (Mrs. William) Langan of Meriden, Eleanor (Mrs. John) Kavaleski of Waltham, and Mary (Mrs. David) Leidy of Hatfield, Pennsylvania; and his aunts, Jillian McCourt, Katie Langan and Kristen Langan.
Charlie's family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Wallingford, Connecticut on Sunday, Jan 29, from 2 to 4 p.m. Interment in Sacred Heart Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be sent to the Charlie Leidy McCourt Memorial Fund, c/o TD Bank, 733 E. Main Street, Meriden, CT 06450.
