Burlington – Charlotte A. (Cremin) Cooper, formerly of Waltham, died unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, March 15, 2016. She was 74.
A Waltham native she was born January 4, 1942 a daughter of the late Edward J. and Mary 'Louise' (Leger) Cremin. Raised and educated in Waltham she was a graduate of the former St. Mary's High School with the class of 1959. She married Charles W. Cooper and his employment with General Motors moved them to Kettering, Ohio where she lived over 30 years. Charles died September 15, 1988 and Charlotte came back to her native New England.
She held a number of positions for work but all of which enabled her to maintain her independence. Whether tending to the day to day needs of someone's home or taking in an animal while someone vacationed Charlotte's clients were like family. Mother Teresa was quoted as saying 'Not all of us can do great things…..but we can all do small things with great love.' And that is how Charlotte lived her daily life.
Charlotte was happiest when with family, working in her garden or yard and spending time at her much loved Singing Beach in Manchester. And her bond with animals provided the comforts of companionship.
She leaves her daughter, Michelle A. Keen and her husband, David of Glenolden, Pennsylvania and her only granddaughter, Audrey C. Keen; her siblings, Beverly L. Nickerson and her husband, Dick of Newton, Peter E. Cremin and his wife, Robin of Chelsea and Paula M. Higgins and her husband, Gary of Woodstock, Ohio; also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Charlotte's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Monday, March 21st from 4 to 7 p.m. and will conclude with her funeral service at 7 p.m. Burial will be private.
Honor Charlotte's memory with a donation to Buddy Dog Humane Society, 151 Boston Post Road, Sudbury, MA 01776 or take a visit to explore the fun and beauty of a local zoo or take in a stray animal.
