Waltham – Mrs. Charlotte A. (Bardsley) O'Connell, of Waltham, died Monday, October 31, 2011 at her home. She was 75.
Charlotte was born in Waltham on September 11, 1936, a daughter of the late Harold and Emily (Melanson) Bardsley and had been a lifelong resident. Until her retirement she worked as a hairdresser and was the proprietor of Ann Margaret's Beauty Salon on Lexington Street in Waltham. In addition to long hours at the shop she enjoyed caring for her grandchildren and an occasional game of bingo.
She leaves her husband, Thomas J. O'Connell; her children, Charlotte M. Neugebauer of Marlboro and Maureen F. O'Connell-Solano and her husband, Mercedes, of Waltham; her brother, Theodore Bardsley of York Beach, Maine; her sister, Theresa Bean of California; 7 grandchilden, 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Charlotte was also a sister of the late Edward, Robert, Paul, Walter, Raymond, Lewis, Leonard, William, Harold and Richard Bardsley.
Family and friends will honor and remember Charlotte's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Thursday, November 3rd, from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 8 a.m. on Friday morning before leaving in procession to Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham
