Waltham - Miss Charlotte Towne, of Waltham, died Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at New England Sinai Hospital, Stoughton. She was 79. Born in Waltham a daughter of the late Edwin C. and Margaret (Warren) Towne, she was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of Waltham. Charlotte attended Waltham Schools and Northfield School for Girls. She was a member of the Piety Corner Club and the First Congregational Church (Trinity Church) in Waltham. Charlotte was a polio survivor since the age of sixteen and was very devoted to family and friends. She was the sister of the late Nathan W. Towne and Barbara Moroney. Charlotte was the beloved aunt of Brian E. Moroney and his wife, Denise, and their children, Martha and Charlotte, with whom Charlotte resided in Waltham. Charlotte is also survived by her brother, Chester L. Towne and his wife, Nancy, of South Hadley, one sister-in-law, Margaret Towne of Waltham, and she was also the aunt of Deborah Hein and her husband, Steven, of Virginia, Leland Towne, David Towne and his wife, Laurie, all of South Hadley, Richard Towne and his wife, Denise, of Natick, Janet Needham and her husband, Christopher, of Lexington, Robert Towne and his wife, Gail, of North Carolina and several grand nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Charlotte will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Trinity Church, 730 Main Street, Waltham. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham. Visiting hours will be held Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham.
