Newton - Mr. Chester Y. Quan, of Newton, died Monday, August 6, 2018 in Lincoln House Hospice Residence of Care Dimensions in Lincoln. He was 88.
Mr. Quan immigrated to the United States and joined the U.S. Navy, serving on the USS Albany during the Korean War. Mr. Quan retired from the China Moon restaurant after working there 40 years. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren traveling and watching Red Sox and Celtic games with his grandson. His hard work and devotion was exemplary to all those who knew him.
He was the husband of the late Paula (Woo) Quan. Mr. Quan is survived by his children, Sandra Ow (Robert), sons James, Michael (Alix), Steven (Alice), his five grandchildren: Richard Ow, Jennifer Bardorf, Sarah, William and Emily Quan; and five great grandchildren, Ryan, Noelle and Caitlin Bardorf; Penelope and Addison Ow.
Family and friends will honor and remember Chester's life by gathering in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Thursday, August 9th where his funeral services will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Boston.
