Mrs. Christine A. (Puglielli) Portlock, of Bedford, died Sunday, November 20, 2022 at Lahey Clinic in Burlington. She was 54.
Christine was born in Cambridge on January 1, 1968, a daughter of Eileen M. (McNamara) Puglielli and the late Joseph R. Puglielli. Raised in Waltham, she was a graduate of Waltham High School with the class of 1986. She continued her studies at Lesley University in Cambridge where she earned her bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in special education.
She married Timothy M. Portlock on July 30, 2000 and the pair settled in Lincoln prior to moving to Bedford where they have lived the past 19 years. She had worked as a kindergarten teacher for the Lincoln Public Schools at Hanscom Primary School for more than thirty years. It was a job she loved and truly had a natural ability for. She was so proud of “her kindergarten kids” and her own kids and would often speak of their accomplishments. In the summer months she always looked forward to camping trips with the family and made a memorable trip this year in the RV to Wild Acres in Old Orchard Beach, Maine.
In addition to her mother, Eileen, and her husband, Timothy M. Portlock, both of Bedford, she leaves her children, Haley M. Portlock, Cameron T. Portlock, Brenna E. Portlock, and Mackenzie P. Portlock, all of Bedford; her brothers and sisters, Lisa M. Geaney (Kevin) of Wakefield, Mark J. Puglielli (Erica) of Canton, Connecticut, Karen E. Puglielli of Watertown, Steven M. Puglielli (Maria) of Reading, Michael J. Puglielli (Jennifer) of Bedford, Ellen T. Lembo (Paul) of Bedford, Matthew T. Puglielli (Jennifer) of Epping, New Hampshire, Ann Marie Eng (Brian) of North Reading, and Timothy J. Puglielli of Acton; her aunt, Mary-Ann McNamara of Waltham; her four beloved canine companions and many nieces and nephews.
Christine was also the mother of the late Tyler R. Portlock.
Family and friends will honor and remember Christine’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Tuesday, November 29th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 8:45 a.m. on Wednesday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Michael’s Church, 90 Concord Road, Bedford where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Shawsheen Cemetery, Bedford.
