Claude J. Parsons

Watertown - Mr. Claude J. Parsons, of Watertown, formerly of Cambridge, passed away at Briarwood Healthcare in Needham on April 29, 2007. He was 91. Born in Boston, a son of the late John and Isabel M. (Prowse) Parsons, he was a supervisor for many years for Western Eectric. He was a member of the American Legion and the Telephone Pioneers. Claude served in Germany during World War II with the United States Army and he was the recipient of the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star medals. He was the former husband of the late Anne (Marenghi) Parsons and brother of the late Clifton Parsons, John Parsons, Robert Parsons, Gertrude K. Parsons, Sr. Isabel Mary Parsons, S.N.D. and Isabelle Gustie. He leaves his children, Claudia Sheehan of Arlington, Phyllis Harris and her husband, Fred, of Ft. Myers, Florida, Janice Anderson of Wilmington, Mary Garrison and her husband, Greg, of Lumberton, New Jersey, Paul Parsons and his wife, Cecelia, of Toronto, Ontario, Nancy Jarboe and her husband, Chuck, of Middleton, Rhode Island and David Parsons and his wife, Jane, of Sudbury; two sisters, Marjorie L. Parsons of Watertown and Dorothy M. Wimberly and her husband, Floyd, of Bradenton, Florida; two sisters-in-law, Rita Parsons of Brighton and Madeline Parsons of Natick; twelve grandchildren, and many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. The Funeral will be held on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. From The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Luke’s Church, 132 Lexington Street, Belmont at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Sr. Isabel Mary Parsons Scholarship Fund, c/o Saint Jude School, 175 Main Street, Waltham, MA 02453.
