Mrs. Claudia P. Daniel, of Waltham, died at home on Sunday, August 2, 2020. She was 89.
Better known of family and friends, 'Tico' was born November 7, 1930 in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic a daughter of the late Freney and Philosia (Louidor) Pierre. She lived there until the age of seven with her parents, older brother Luc and her twin brother, Cleophat.
She then moved to the west side of the island in the north part of Haiti where she settled until adulthood. Port-au-Prince then became home after the death of her husband of 36 years, Theriche Daniel on October 27, 1973. She moved to the capital city to support her children while they completed their educations.
In the early 1980's she immigrated to Canada and then to the United States to be closer to her children and grandchildren.
She was truly a selfless human being and it's through the remarkable interactions with her family, her generosity to her relatives were what Claudia enjoyed most of all. She was a very noble person to say the least. A beautiful woman with a golden heart, always kept her family close and was never far apart. She truly shared her love and her kindness with everyone near.
In addition to her husband she was sadly predeceased by five of her nine children, John, Gerard, Kekette, Louis-Andre, Marie-Lourdes and three Stepchildren, Ilda, Willard and Edith and four brothers, Luc, Cleophat, Edner and Vastey.
Tico leaves her children, Jacqueline Daniel of Montreal, Canada, Louis-Marcelin Daniel of Miami, Florida and Haiti, Ernst Daniel of Waltham and Martine Charles of Miami; three step-children, Evenia, Edris and Renald; three daughters-in-law, Jeanne, Anette, and Alberte; and two son-in-law, Guy and Frantz; her sister, Orcenelia Louidor of Port-au-Prince; grandchildren, Wildy, Valery, Jeanne, Rodney, Guy-Richard, Alain, John Edouard, Edelyn, Evinx, Chantale, Reggie, Stefan, Carine, Bryan, Ricardo, Johanne, Kendy, Jesson, Lisa, Sara, Andy, Guesly, Ashley, Stacy, Trisha, Terry, Danika;, Jose-Sebastien, Rulz-Oliviero, Scharaelle, Lioyd, great-grandchildren, Shannell, Ismael, Alex, Xavier, Rishon, Eli, Charlee, Emmalee, Terrick, Theresa, Emrick, Chloe, Kaleb, Kael, Lea, Alek, Kamil, Andrew, Aiden, Amanda, Leila-Grace; and many nieces & nephews; Herve, Dejean, Naobes, Frantz, Kettie, Adele, Memone, Chantone, Marius Jr, Simone, Kettlie, Vania, Marlene, Madeline, Benoit and John.
Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Tico's life on Thursday, August 13th in Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
