Belmont - Mrs. Concordia D. ‘Connie’ (Ferrara) Vernacchio, of Belmont, died August 16, 2010 at Meadow Green Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, she was 96.
Born on May 9, 1914 in Boston, a daughter of the late Enrico and Rose (Colangelo) Ferrara, Connie moved from East Boston to Belmont in 1959 and had worked as an independent seamstress.
She leaves her children Janice A. Deyoe and her husband, Doug, of Acton and Henrietta ‘Tetta’ Carbone and her husband, John, of Woburn; her grandchildren Amanda, Matthew, Rebecca, and Adam; her siblings Rev. Bede Ferrara, OFM of New York, Regina Feola of Watertown and Ann Januario of Lynn and many nieces and nephews.
She was the wife of the late Gerald A. Vernacchio who died in February, 2002.
Family and friends will honor and remember Connie’s life by gathering to visit in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham on Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. before leaving in procession to Saint Luke’s Church, 132 Lexington Street, Belmont where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Entombment will follow in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
