Waltham – Mrs. Constance "Marion" (Hemeon) Kutz of Waltham died Monday September 23, 2013 in her hometown of Waltham after a period of declining health. She was 86.
Born in Waltham, Massachusetts a daughter of the late Harold and Muriel Hemeon, she had lived in Waltham her entire life. She lived for eighty-four years in the same house she grew up in on College Farm Road.
Marion was an avid gardener and a great cook. Her tomatoes right off the vine were not to be beat. Her husband built her a greenhouse where she raised her garden vegetables from seeds. Marion also loved the beach, horse back riding on College Farm Road before it was paved, playing her organ and showing others how to play and read music. She was also very talented in yarn work, making things from hats, mittens and fancy dolls for any occasion to beautiful colorful afghans. She also loved her trips to Maine with her husband, the love of her life, Dickie. Time spent with her family was precious.
She was the beloved wife of the late Richard L. Kutz with whom she shared thirty-six years of marriage and sister of the late Philip Hemeon.
She is survived by her son Barry L. Kutz of Berkley; her grandchildren Kailey and Jake Kutz; her close family friend Caroline Abely and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Marion's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Friday, September 27th, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and again at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning when her funeral service will be held. Burial will be private.
