Corrine F. Van Alstine

Corrinne F. Van Alstine, of Newton, formerly of Waltham died on Wednesday May 10, 2017 in Newton Wellesley Hospital. She was 89.

Corrinne was born in Concord on September 6, 1927, the daughter of the late Andrew and Marie (Johnson) Robertson. She was raised in Waltham and graduated from Waltham High School in 1945 and later attended the Leland Powers School. She was a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Waltham. After marrying the late Dutton Van Alstine in 1951 the couple moved to New York City. A resident of Newton since 1964. She worked as a writer in a variety capacities including: radio, advertising, non-profit, human resources and public relations. A champion of womens rights and issues she lobbied for the ERA.

Corrinne is survived by her children: Kris Van Alstine and his wife Anh Tran of Newton and Nola Van Alstine and her husband, Todd Landen, of Weston, Connecticut and her grandchildren Xander and Garrett.

She was also the sister of the late Richard Robertson.

Family and friends will honor and remember Corrinne's life by gathering for her Memorial Service at Elliot Church of Newton, 474 Centre St., Newton on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 11 a.m. Burial will take place the following day on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Concord.
