South Yarmouth – Mr. Daniel T. Giampa, of South Yarmouth, formerly of Waltham, died Saturday, May 24, 2014 at his home. He was 37.

Dan was born in Newton on December 9, 1976 and had lived in Waltham before moving to Yarmouth a year ago. He was a graduate of Waltham High School and had been working as a self-employed contractor.

He had a lifelong passion for martial arts and was a fan of all of the Boston pro sports teams. His greatest affection was reserved for time spent with his nephews and niece who he adored.

He leaves his parents, Joel P. and Catherine R. 'Cathy' (Grady) Giampa of Bonita Springs, Florida; his brothers, Peter J. Giampa and his wife, Dawn, of Acushnet and Dennis P. Giampa and his wife, Nicole, of New Bedford; his nephews and his niece, Nicholas, Ethan and Allison Giampa; several aunts and uncles including Linda Grady of Waltham and his dear friends, Kimberly Podolske and Amy Ingemi.

Family and friends will honor and remember Dan's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Friday, May 30th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m.

Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
