Waltham – It's been said that the strongest people we know are not those who show strength in front of us but those who win battles we knew nothing about.
If that's the measure then Danielle DeVincent was the strongest person most anyone will ever get to know. Diagnosed since birth with von Hippel-Lindau disease Danielle's long battle with cancer ended on Tuesday, October 20, 2015. She was 35 years old and met the end the same way that she lived every day of her life, with grace and dignity.
She was possessed of the sweetest smile and a voice to match, a sense of style unsurpassed by Madison Avenue and a courageous determination to never let a day go by that wasn't filled with love.
Danielle M. Coleman was born in Waltham on March 30, 1980, a daughter of Angela M. (Pavone) Coleman of Waltham and the late Scott F. Coleman, and was a lifelong resident. She graduated from Waltham High School in 1998 and four years later earned her degree from Stonehill College. Danielle worked for a number of years as an office manager for J.F. White Contracting.
On June 17, 2006 she married the love of her life, Raymond J. DeVincent, in Our Lady's Church in Waltham and their joy was made complete with the arrival of their son, Raymond S. DeVincent, six years ago.
Danielle loved being a full time wife and mother and was really good at it. The family loved to travel and to entertain at home where Danielle was the consummate hostess. Her short years were filled with wonderful experiences with family and friends who will cherish the memories forever.
In addition to her husband, Ray, her son, Raymond and her mother, Angela, she leaves her father and mother-in-law, Raymond E. and Elizabeth DeVincent of Lincoln; her brother, Scott J. Coleman and his wife, Debra, of Waltham; her grandmother, Mary (Collura) Pavone of Naples, Florida; her grandmother-in-law, Ann DeVincent of Waltham; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Keith DeVincent and his wife, Jennifer, of Waltham, Lisa Miller and her husband, John, of Orange, Connecticut and Katherine and Anthony DeVincent, both of Lincoln and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews including her godchild, Paige Coleman.
Danielle was also the sister of the late Deanna L. Coleman; daughter-in-law of the late Donna (O'Connor) DeVincent; granddaughter of the late Joseph P. Pavone and the late Edward and Theresa (Romard) Coleman and granddaughter-in-law of the late Raymond DeVincent.
Family and friends will honor and remember Danielle's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Friday, October 23rd from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
