Shrewsbury - Mr. David M. Bentley, of Shrewsbury, died Monday, March 18, 2013 at University of Massachusetts Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. He was 63.
David was born in Newton on September 16, 1949, a son of the late James and Nora (Conroy) Bentley. He was raised in Waltham and was a 1967 graduate of Waltham High School. He lived in Waltham for most of his life before moving to Shrewsbury ten years ago. Until his retirement he worked as a field technician for the Digital Equipment Company in Maynard. After that he worked for several years at Home Depot.
He leaves his children, David M. Bentley, Jr. and his wife, Melissa, Sheila A. Barter and her husband, Alan, all of Shrewsbury and Julie A. Bentley of Waltham; his siblings, James Bentley and his wife, Linda, of Concord, Joseph Bentley and his wife Maureen, of Venice, Florida, John Bentley and his wife, Patricia, of Billerica, Kenneth Bentley of Maynard, Noreen Maher and her husband, William, of Sarasota, Florida; his grandchildren, Alyson and Madeline Bentley and Thomas, Benjamin, Olivia and Wyatt Barter; his former wife, Cheryl J. (Anderson) Bentley of Falmouth and many nieces and nephews.
David was also a brother of the late Richard Bentley.
Family and friends will honor and remember David's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Saturday, March 23rd, from 2 to 5 p.m. followed by his funeral service at 5 p.m. Burial will be private.
